The Rs 500,000 has already been allocated to 5,000 students from Assam who have availed education loans to finance their higher education. Earlier, in 2016, the government launched the scheme.

If a portion of the loan has been paid past a certain time, you cannot apply for the scheme. All education loans are declared non-performing assets after a certain period of 90 days. The Bidya Lakshmi Scheme was launched by the Government of Assam in 2017.

If you are one of the beneficiaries under the scheme, you cannot apply for the Education Loan Assistance Scheme. Through the Bidyalakshmi scheme, government employees have been able to get education loans of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
