The main objective of the Odisha Medhabruti Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the students of Odisha who are not able to pursue higher education due to their weak financial condition.

The Government of Odisha has launched the Odisha Medhabruti Scholarship to provide financial assistance to deserving students seeking to pursue higher education Through this scholarship program, the government will award 14,500 scholarships per year.
Students get a stipend of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per annum. The government may increase the amount of scholarships under a particular class depending on the number of qualified students who have applied and obtained certificates in other category.

- Undergraduate merit- In order to pursue + 3 degree courses like BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA etc who are having duration of 3 years
- Post-graduate merit- Postgraduate courses in Arts, commerce, science and other postgraduate courses which are of non professional in nature
