Objectives of CAA Portal

People who have been persecuted from Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Bangladesh due to their religious beliefs can apply for Indian citizenship through the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) website, which can be found at https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in. The six minority communities that are targeted for persecution are Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Hindus.

Note: These documents will be accepted even after their validity term has passed, according to the requirements.

Features of CAA Portal for Indian Citizenship

The guidance, which will implement the CAA, states that “any document” proving an applicant’s nationality is sufficient to prove that their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were born in one of these countries, and a certificate from a designated local team member which would suffice in lieu of a visa.

The need for an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or Afghan passport is essentially eliminated by the law rather than documentation of the applicant’s citizenship and birth certificate or education institution, “certificate of any kind”, “any license or certificate” . , “record of land or mortgage”, or “any other Deed” as the case may be shall suffice. issued by these countries confirming the applicant’s nationality.
