AICTE AURA Scheme:- All India Council of Technical Education launched AICTE AURA (Augmenting Utilization of Research Assets 2024 Scheme) to promote the use of I-STEM (India Science Technology Engineering facilities map). At the AICTE headquarters in New Delhi, AICTE president TG Sitaram introduced the scheme.
This scheme provides financial support to teachers and students of AICTE-approved colleges so that they can avail I-STEM facilities and promote research.

Funding for the AICTE AURA Scheme
On submission of the payment receipt for the use of equipment and facilities listed in the I-STEM centre, the researcher will be paid up to Rs 2 lakh to initiate the research project. Each researcher provides a maximum limit of Rs 2 lakh.
AICTE Augmenting Utilisation of Research Assets Scheme Objective
Through several ministries or departments, the Indian government is investing huge resources in R&D. This system is available in renowned academic institutions and national laboratories across the country.
AICTE president TG Sitaram said at the event that funding for R&D would enable collaboration between academic institutions and research bodies.
The AURA project aims to promote a research culture in engineering education institutions through community-sponsored hardware and software R&D facilities, which I-STEM has designed to support the current research
Eligibility Criteria for AICTE AURA Scheme
There is no minimum age for taking advantage of the scheme. AICTE AURA registration is open to full time or permanent faculty of AICTE approved schools and students enrolled in PG Scholarship, ADF and QIP programs of AICTE.
All graduate students from AICTE approved institutions who are not eligible for AICTE PG scholarship scheme can still avail the benefits of AICTE AURA scheme. One can only use this system twice in a lifetime
AICTE AURA Scheme Funds Reimbursement
Invoices must be submitted bi-annually for payment in the fiscal year running April through September (before October 31) and October through March (before April 30) Repayments will be made bi-annually any. The funds will be transferred online to the bank account of the researcher through RTGS or NEFT.
Registration Process for AICTE AURA Scheme
The All India Council for Technical Education launched the AICTE AURA. The government has not yet published the official website for this; however, the government will do so shortly. We will update this post as soon as there is a fresh update on this plan.
