The scheme will increase the number of female students enrolled in colleges, universities and schools. Another 200,000 female students are expected to enroll in educational institutions this year. The National Family Health Survey 2019–21 showed that 31.8% of women aged 20–24 were mothers, meaning that most of these women were married before the legal age of 18.

Benefits of Assam Nijut Moina Scheme 2024

Every deserving girl student enrolling in Class 11 would be given an incentive of up to Rs 10,000 per annum, or Rs 1,000 per month for a maximum period of ten months. Incentives up to Rs. 1250/- per month for ten months, or a total of Rs. 12,500/-per annum, to each of the deserving female students enrolled in the first year of graduation.

The program will also finance the education of female students in universities and other educational institutions. A monthly incentive of Rs 2,500 has been provided for a maximum of ten months to all deserving female students enrolled in the first year after graduation, totaling up to Rs 25,000 per annum.
