Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched the third phase of Odisha's flagship health scheme Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana According to Naveen, his ambition is to provide universal healthcare to everyone in Odisha, where everyone has access to affordable and quality healthcare. BSKY has revolutionized the way it guarantees healthcare to the people of the country.
For serious ailments, cardholders will get cashless treatment at private hospitals. The card will cover all rural poor families except regular government employees and income tax payers.
BSKY will cover more than 1.10 million households or 90% of the total population of the country. Those eligible for the scheme will get free fee for critical illnesses referred to sanctioned private hospitals inside and outside the state, up to Rs. 10 lakh for women in a household.
It has been designed as a unique model of universal healthcare, combining public and commercial benefits to provide comprehensive healthcare assurance to the people of Odisha
Eligibility Criteria for BSKY Nabin Card
- The applicant must be a resident of Odisha
- The third phase of the BSKY would cover the households that were left out of the first two phases.
- Regular government employees and income taxpayers are not eligible for the BSKY Nabin Card
