The ‘Festival Special Housing Scheme 2024’, which provides 32,000 new construction units, will soon start collecting registrations from potential buyers from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). On November 24, registration opens for flats offered on a first-come, first-served basis. About 32,000 units are available in various categories in different areas like Dwarka, Loknayakpuram and Narela and now around 24,000 units are ready to go and the remaining 8,500 units will be completed in the next six months.

Location and Flat Categories

Five flats ie. super high income group (SHIG), high income group (HIG), middle income group (MID), low income group (LIG), and economic hardship segment (EWS) covered Under future plans. Houses are being offered in Vasant Kunj, Loknayakpuram, Dwarka, Sector 19B and Sector 14 in the proposed phase.

 Eligibility Criteria For DDA Housing Scheme

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India
  • The applicant must have completed at least 18 years of age
  • Only those citizens can apply under the scheme who does not have their wife or her husband or any of his or her dependent relation including unmarried children does not own Full or in part on a freehold and leasehold basis a residential plot having an area exceeding 67 sqm or flat/build-up to house having carpet area exceeding 67 sqm in the urban area of Delhi, New Delhi and Delhi cantonment
  • Both Husband and wife can apply for flats separately subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions with the stipulation that if both are declared successful then only one shall be allotted a flat and the amount of application money of the other will be refunded
  • Applicants can only once submit the application either in their or their own name or as a joint or co-applicant
  • The individual or joint income of the applicant applying for economically weaker section flats should not exceed 3 lakh per annum and household income should not exceed Rs 10 lakh per annum
  • There are no income criteria for other categories
  • The applicant is required to give his or her bank account details in the application form
  • Applicant must possess a permanent account number
  • In case of a joint application under the SC or St reserved category, the joint applicant should be from within the family
  • In case of a joint application under war widows, persons with disability, ex-servicemen and another reserved categories the applicant himself or herself should fall within the respective reserved category and the joint applicant should be from within the family

Applications under this scheme will be accepted through online mode only If the applicant wishes to apply for more than one category, the applicant is required to deposit the registration fee payable for the higher or higher category as the case may be Once the application is submitted,

the applicant cannot withdraw it Processing of applications, application forms, title deeds, transport documents, etc., and uploading of documents shall be done exclusively through the internet Applicants must keep their admission credentials confidential The Delhi Development Authority shall not be liable for unauthorized use of the certificate of occupancy 

Applicants should check the portal regularly for any updates The applicant is required to fill in the local regulations and give one or more preferences up to 7 for the chosen course The neighborhood must fulfill at least one wish It is assumed that the applicant has seen or visited the area or building before making an offer No requests for zone or zone changes will be entertained Applicants are not required to provide any documents at the time of submitting the application form

Reservations Under DDA Housing Scheme

  • 15% of the flats will be reserved for applicants belonging to scheduled caste
  • 7.5 % of the flats will be reserved for applicants belonging to scheduled tribes
  • If an adequate number of applications are not received from scheduled tribe categories then the remaining flats will be disposed of in favor of applicants belonging to the scheduled caste category and vice versa
  • 1% of flats will be reserved for applicants of war widows and those receiving liberalized pensions from armed/paramilitary services
  • 1% of flats will be reserved for ex-servicemen
  • 5% of flats will be reserved for persons with disability.
  • If sufficient numbers of applications are not received from the above-mentioned category then the flat will be offered to the undeserved category
