Assam Amrit Brikshya Andolan:- On 8 June , the Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sharma announced that 1 million nectar trees would be planted across the state on 17 September from 8 am to 11 am.

Self Help Groups, ASHA , educational institutions, Gram Raksha Dal, anganwadi workers, tea garden workers and individuals will plant the saplings, which will be called commercial trees.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched the Amrit Brikshya Andolan Scheme in a bid to green the state and provide financial assistance to its members. Through this program, the people of the country will be encouraged to grow trees.

The whole country will participate in this process. According to this scheme, the people of the state would get Rs 100 per tree at the time of plantation, if the trees survive for three years, the state government would also pay Rs 200 per plant to the beneficiaries

On September 17, 10 million trees will be planted across the country in just two hours. Assam will be the first state in the country to achieve this goal. The Wave Portal will provide a national online registration for the use of this system.
